So yes I know that I've been shirking my responsibilities in keeping up this blog but meh what are YOU gonna do about it?!
...
I see. Well then, I'll make more of an effort shall I?
Some good news. I'm Applying to 7 or so universities for Education! Hopefully one of em will have pity and accept me. For those who are curious, I'm applying to STU, (not holding up much hope for acceptance but my 'rents insist that I should despite the odds,) UNB, MUN, Presque-Isle, Mount St-Vincent, UPEI... and... um, I think that's it. I'll have to check my forms. So wish me luck y'all!
Christmas was not too shabby. I think that it was made better than usual with the little ones. Jordyn just had her second X-mas whereas little Ethan got his first. Jordyn is begining to realize what it's all about and even says "ho ho ho" when she sees a white bearded man; NOT just Santa. I tell ya that was some cute when I heard that. Even the stranger laughed and said ; "Yes, I suppose I do look like Santa." Keep in mind this happen after christmas.
But alas, like always Christmas HAS to go. Never understood that. I keep hearing that, "if christmas was every day or whatever then we'd miss the point of christmas." What the hell kind of sense does that make? We appreciate peace on earth only a particular time of the year and the rest its back to killing each other. Yeah that's it I missed the point. Phew glad you could keep me straight. Fuck I hate humanity.
Anyhoo, it's suppertime then if it's still on, D&D @ Jamies.
'Peace' out

    <lj:music>World of Warcraft - Seasons of War</lj:music>

The morning after the job for Nevitash was one that both Chet Armcloud and Tey Drin were not really looking forward to. Considering how they're previous job ended the reprecussions for failing Nevitash seemed less appealing. They were, however, allowed to arrange accomodations with him rather than spend the night over their true employer; the headmaster of Morgrave University, Larian ir'Morgrave. Chet, opting for caution, decided it best to remain with the employer they knew, albeit briefly, rather than the one they didn't. Before confronting Nevitash, Tey and Chet thought it best to clear their heads and walk the City of Towers. They went over to get some breakfast in the Market. Chet insisted to pay Hommage to his God Dol Arrah for thanks in what transpired the night previously and for the day ahead.

Tey being the self-opportunist thief that she is was more than a little bored with Chet's religious endeavours. They did however return to Nevitash expecting the other boot to fall in regards to the last nights events. Their employer was sitting at his dining room table, engrossed in his reading of various scrolls. He informed them that he did not blame them for the unfortunate outcome that led to the items theft by a third party. He did however needed them for another job.
Several of Sharn's nobles have gone missing. Normally this would be a job for the Watch, but these nobles had significant ties to certain seedy elements of the underworld. Slave-trade, drug-trafficing, murder were only a few lighter examples. One noble in particular though had a particularly high standing in the noble houses of Sharn and his disapearance will cause a stir. Nevitash wanted Chet and Tey to investigate his dwellings for any evidence to his illegal activities, his association, if any to the others who have gone missing, and any possible reason why they disappeared.

--to be continued--

Final Fucking Fantasy XII baby!!!

That's RIGHT! Only one week away from Halloween, excessive amounts of candy and the much anticipated Final Fantasy XII. I've been waiting for a new FF ever since the dismal disapointment that was X-2. The one thing that made that game trully dismal was the Charlies Angels ripped-off theme of a storyline. They make a sequel to a really good game, but they don't make a 'playable' sequel to the best, which is of course VII. It also marked the first time that I was trully disapointed in a Final Fantasy game, with "Dirge of Cerberus," coming up close behind. (although to be fair, "Dirge" wasn't a real RPG nor can I count it as a true sequel despite all indications to the contrary.)
Hopefully that will all change with the graphic eyecandy that is FF XII. And it's out in a week! Dammit I want it to be now!

First and foremost I'd like to thank everyone who gave me a birthday shout out, be it on time or belated, it doesn't matter to me! Thank you all! For those that are curious, From Crystal and Ethan, I got X-Men: the last stand, (big surprise huh?) and I got The Blue Collar Commedy Tour. From Michelle and Jordyn I got Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince in soft cover to update my collection; I'm gonna start re-reading 'em soon, can't wait! I also got some Skittles and Lindor Chocolates from them too. From the Folks, I got a a bunch of clothes; new jeans, two pair of shoes, t-shirts, pj's, shirts... OH! I almost forgot that my mother said she'd pay the difference thats left on Final Fantasy 12 when it comes out on Nov. 1st. I thought I had already done that but I went to check a week ago at EB games and apparently I didn't.
There wasn't a whole hell of a lot of things I really wanted this year. Well that's not entirely true. I need to wait for christmas to have the other things though. Such as the DVD's of Pirates 2 and Superman Returns. I also want some D&D books. Some are already out but two in particular are coming out in November Eberron's Dragonmarked and D&D's Cityscape.
Anyhow I'm prattling on here. Again thanks to everyone and I'll see ya soon! I may drop into school tomorrow since I apparently have the day off! Sweet!

Yup. It's my birthday. Oct 20th 1980 was the day/year so that makes me 26. Wow... time flies. I remember my birthday from my first year at university still four year ago. Today I had to work... yay. But I also get to spend the afternoon/evening with my sisters and their kids! Both Ethan and Jordyn will be making an appearance So I'm happy about that!

Monday was fun. I got to play my Character from Jamie's Forgotten Realms Campaign that he'll be runnin'. He's doing a prequel kind of thing right now since he wants us to start at around lvl 4 and is offering his players to have pre-sessions before we start the main campaign. Kyle and Romard were there too and we met up in-game as well. I won't spoil what character they are, they can post it if they want, but my character was a blast to play. See I'm a new race that was introduced in the past few years in another D&D campaign setting. I'm part of a race called the Warforged. Think medieval sentient robot. The Warforged are sentient -- or self aware -- golems made up of a skeleton comprised of wood, and an exoskeleton made of metal and stone. I'm a different variation of Warforged called Psiforged that also has crystals imbedded in his armor. His name is Cognisance, or "Cog" for short. He is quite ignorant of the outside world, being cooped up in his master's lair since his activation and his innocence is shown by asking the other party members these assinating string of questions just like a kid would trying to understand how things are the way they are. As he experiences the real world he'll become more "normal."

Anyhoo that's all for me at the moment. Ethan's awake and I wanna hang with my godson.

This one has it all! Dragons, Bay leafs, mild grossness, everything!

Gyah. I have to update this baby more often.
Most of you know I LOVE dragons. Doesn't matter if its drawn, statues, animated, whatever. I LOVE DRAGONS! D&D recently came out with these two massive dragons for their Minis game and I got the black one not too long ago. It's awesome but it's nothing compared to the Colossal Red Dragon they release shortly after the the black one. Its huge! And purdy and deadly-lonkin' and I loves it very, very much!
This past weekend I was lucky enought to be invited to Dr Schutz's Anglo-Saxon Feast day, considering I was there last year. I got there a tad later than I would have liked but I got there around 2-ish and everyone had just finished preparing their homemade bread and were letting it rise. I got there just in time to prepare the chickens. The highlight for me is the roasting of several chickens on a spit over an open fire. And who'd a thunk had to do the turning? ME! Had fun too, all I had to do was sit and turn the Chickens over and over the fire, and contend with the oppressive heat given off by the fire and Dr. Schutz's wacky-yet-cool, rocket scientist (literally) of a husband, tinkering with the fire to make it "bigger." Hence, HOTTER.

When it got to eating, we also had a home made soup that Dr Schutz was preparing in a huge witch-like cauldron out near the fire. The soup was pretty friggin' good had wild rice, and a wide assortment of veggies. The problem was that as I eating it I swallowed a whole, unchewed bay leaf... and it got stuck in my esophogus... length wise. Not only did every attempt to swallow the fucker hurt like hell, but eventually my gag-reflex kicked in. With every time I tried to swallow I began to gag. But OH NO, I didn't actually go right then! At least it gave me time to make a semi-discreet disappearence from group. I left before the worst of it came so it was that bad, but I did seperate myself rather abruptly form everyone, trying to get rid of the leaf, before entering Dr. Schutz' house to do my business in the bathroom. The annoying thing is that it took forever to actually get rid of the thing. My stomach muscles, not to metion my throat were incredibly sore afterwards. Apart from that the only other thing that got hurt was my dignity as this happened in front of among others, a group attractive girls. I'm not sure if they, or anyone, actually noticed that anything was wrong. Either way it was awfully embarassing. Dr Schutz did notice and asked what was wrong and only answered after I had done my business. If only to let her know that her soup REALLY was good but my own idiocy cause me to be sick.

That's it for now! Now to eat some supper with the folks then off to Jamies for D&D! YEA!

HAPPY TURKEY DAY TO ONE AND ALL!

Ok. I glad that I've feasted on a bird known as a Turkey. Why? I hate em. Seriously they freak me out. Especially their call. *Shudders* I think it has to do with me being swarmed by a bunch of them when I was little. They're psycho, crazy even... what does that say about me when I enjoy eating them and take a gleeful and insidious joy in the fact that there is one less Turkey in the world to freak me out. hmmm... me crazy? eeep.

Also had the young'uns over for the feast. Jordyn was more fascinated by the candles that were lit; "Oooh-ing" constantly and otherwise being extremely cute. Ethan who is stubborn enough NOT to smile when everone BUT his Godfather (that's me!) talks "baby" to him. (proud am I? Fuck yeah!)

Also, for those who need a costume for Halloween frivolity, or you otherwise wanna have fun dressing up, my offer to chauffeur (at least SOME of you) to my mom's costume shop is still open. It should be done soon, perhaps next Saturday? How 'bout the market first then costumes? Anyhoo those who are interested lemme know. I shall get a hold of those that were interested early next week to touch base. Later!

The end is nigh for my Star Wars Character. I guess the only question is how it's gonna happen. Being a Jedi at the time of the Jedi Purge my chances aren't great for survival. Yet still I COULD make it. Regardless last night's SW session was a blast! Complete with Droids, AT-AT's, and Dragons! That's right, Dragons baby! OK, it was only one but still a dragon! But when it came down to the application of the infamous 'Order' it was exciting as it was sad. Clone troopers that accompanied us since the begining of our adventuresturned on us and were killed. That said not much left to do except go to Corruscant because we recieved an emergency Jedi return signal instructing all Jedi to return to the Jedi Temple...
There was a small price to pay for the great geekery that was last night. I got home a tiny bit late and now this morning I'm having great difficulty keeping my eyes open. Meh. Small sacrifice to pay for Star Wars!

Sweet! After a prolonged absence, I return to my Star Wars Character tonight! Funny thing is, or not so funny anymore, I Haven't lvl'd Corad since last session NEED to level Corad. I WAS gonna do it yesterday, but alas, another form of geekery took away my attention. Yes it was Wednesday yesterday and that means it was Comic book day and it was quite the release I must say. At the top of the pile in oh-my-friggin-god goodness would be Astonishing X-men *drools* and finally the 4th issue of Marvel's Civil War *drools some more*. Thats at the TOP of the heep. The rest isn't bad at all and thus the reason why Corad still isn't leveled up yet.
I must say though that I'm quite excited for tonight, considering is near the end of the road for my Jedi. As fun as he was to play and the fun I had playing him with the rest of the group, I find my excitement growing for the next SW RPG, not to mention Jamie's Forgotten Realms RPG. But I'm getting ahead of myself first there's Corad and the Purge that I have to go through...

Every so often at the wonderful world that is a call center monkey's life, you get those calls that annoy the hell out of you. Who am I kidding that happens a hell of a lot more often than that. Anyhoo people call in and they ask for such and such hotel for such and such dates. But OH NO! They've been possessed! NO! It's worse! Machines and computers have taken over their minds; it has started! The begining of the end! To what is this crazy person talking about? When morons on the phone find it easier to instead of giving me the date and month of when they are checking in they go digital, or some stupid shit like that, and give me the numerical equivilent to the month. Dunno what I mean? You know, like on the expiration date of a credit card; the numbers 1 through 12 representing the months. Why the fuck is it thought that giving me the number for the month they want to come in? it drives me up the god damn wall it annoys me so much. Frig, I cannot comprehend why people do that. Give me the NAME you dumb fucks! You know those twelve names that you learnt before you dropped out of kindergarden to become an illiterate stupid excuse for a human being??? Bah!

Now onto another rant, although this one revolves around fellow co-workers. Some of you know that I've been having problems at work concerning my lunches begin stolen. And for the record, it's not just my lunches per se. Basically I get these mini pizzas fairly often. On one partibular instant this summer, I got one of these boxes that hold six on my first 15 minute break, when my lunch came about a short while later, all but one were eaten. Keep in mind that this in the space of two hours or so. Man I was pissed. A few more incidents such as these happened to me and to others here as well. But nothing as ridiculous someone stealing five mini-pizzas in a few hours time.
Recently, the call center intituted this policy that rewarded us for how many people we sign up for the Marriott Rewards prgram. What that is isn't important, what is is that we, ie the center, get money for every person we sign up. What did they do with said cash? They open up a "Game Room" upstairs with a brand new TV, games such as a fun Sudoku meets scrabble thingy, a "Foose" Ball table... even an XBOX 360... (you know where this is going don't ya's)
Someone on the weekend lifted the 360, cables and all. I was more than a little surprized that they even got one in the first place for this very reason. They were even planning on getting a collection of games to be played for our enjoyment! God damn klepto. Of course we don't know if it's the same person at all, (it is of course a rather expensive machine and you could get a fair bit of money for it.) It does beg the question though wether or not it is just a single person doing it. I'd love for them to be an LJ user and they read my, in particular this, post. I wonder how they'd feel if they read that they make me sick to my stomach. Did they steal my food becasue they couldn't afford to pay for their own... awww... bought too much crack did we? awww, your stealing an Xbox 360 that everyone at work payed for and your bringing it to a pawn shop to get more money for a fix? Are you ashamed? Do you even care? Probably not, huh? Get some help, jackass.

If it is this Sunday I'm thinking about 7:00-ish.
Later all!

Damn You XenoSaga 3 !!!

Stupid engrossing storyline taking me away from the game I LURV so friggin much... Yeah, I caved. I know I posted yesterday that I wouldn't play either 'Xenosaga' or 'Cerberus' until AFTER I was done FF7. That didn't happen. At least 'Cerberus' is still in the shrinkwrap. But I was curious about the other and as a result of my curiosity I was up 'til 2am. Ugh. Tired.

For those of you unaware, Xenosaga is a Sci-Fi/Fantasy Space Operatic RPG Video Game. This one, obviously, is the third and final installment of the series and unlike the Final Fantasy series, they all share the same evolving storyline. In otherwords all the characters are the same in each game. Which is neat. They even have 'Magic,' moreso this time around, that they call 'Ether' (any Final Fantasy fan would find that ironic.) They explain it as nanomachines in their systems producing the effects whatever power you produce. Cool idea but it could be developped more as far as the "how" it works.
The thing I like the most about the series is that it is really like watching a movie. Honestly. You spend just as much time, if not MORE, not playing and watching the pretty amazing anime-style computer animation. Therein lies the problem I had last night. To get the storyline (that is IF you can; its pretty friggin confusing) you have to watch the movies. And often there are a string of them so you can't go to a save point and stop. LOTS of religous allegory too which makes it pretty interesting. I THINK the religion that is most often being alluded to is Judaism. I seem to recall hearing a reference between Judaism and "Zohar," (which is an object that is a central part of the game,) but I could be wrong.

Anyhoo, for my Eberron playas, How is Sunday shaping up for you guys? Afternoon? Evening? Lemme know specifics so we can all return to the World of Eberron ASAP...!

For anyone that would like to know, I'm on Campus again today after work (say 3-ish, or a little later) for the STEEDS meeting that got "canceled" on Monday. See ya there!

ON the one hnd it was a sad day for me and on the other ir wasn't at all. And of course I'm exagerating. Yesterday saw the end of my days of an XBOX owner. Yep that's right I returned that puppy including all corresponding system games to E.B. After all was tallied, I had 130$ worth of store credit to use. And use I did! I got Xenosaga III and the Final Fantasy VII; Dirge of Cerberus plus I got the guide to Xenosaga III. In total it only cost me 1.11$ for all that! So once I'm done playing FFVII, I got two other games to play. Not to mention FFXII that's coming out in November. Oye.
Yesterday was also cool becasue its the first time I've been to school since it began. I must say it was a tad strange being there and not needing to be. I was there for the STEEDS meeting that apparently got rescheduled due to TST meeting in the same location and same time as the one I was going to. But not everyone -- including me -- got that message and Nick gave an impromtu little meet and greet. The meeting got resheduled for wednesday at 5:00 or 6:00. I'm not sure when exactly they first said 6 then may have settle at 5. In anycase dunno if I HAVE to be there again but it's a good excuse to be on campus I suppose. ;-) Auditions for DR. Faustus are this weekend and they need 25 or so people so come one and all to em! (talk to Kate for more details on it.)

How is this Sat or Sunday for a next session. If Sat is better it would have to be in the evening since I'm in Moncton all day visiting a friend. In all honesty Sunday would be preferable to me but I can certainly do Sat night, say 7:00-7:30? Sunday could be anytime so tell me what's better for you guys.

After a small sacrifice of waking up too early for my liking on a sunday, and attending 'church' for the first time since my sister Michelle's wedding, I is a Godfather. I say Church in brackets because there was no actual mass to go with it just the christening ceremony which lasted about 30 mimutes or so. The ceremony itself was done at St Dunstan's Cathedral, the church right in front of the Market. Baby Ethen didn't make a peep once the water was poured over his head. He was dozing in and out prior to it and the rush of semi-cold water being poured on his mostly bald head woke him up with eyes wide open but not a peep. He had this, "Man this water is COLD," look, a semi-frown that was pointed toward the mother; blaming her no doudbt for the cold bath she's apparently giving him. So yeah I'm excessively proud of my godchild *blushes,* got his a card and a christening gift that was nothing more than this little Cartoony-ish Guardian angel statue "From godfather to godson."

Yeah. Appologies to my Eberron Playas, I was told that the shindig-ery that would follow could -- and did -- last all day and into the evening. ***********Refer to Saturday's post for rescheduling details.*************

I got a another copy of Final Fantasy VII. I still can't seem to find mine which perplexes me to no end. but I have to have my fix of it so I borrowed a friend's copy. I turned my room inside out finding it to no avail... yet. Bad side of the coin; can't find my copy of FF7. Good side; I'm at least getting my FF7 fix!

I think the opporative word here is, *Ahem* SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Not that my Eberron postings don't merrit the classifications of 'postings' not everyone cares about when the next session is so here by an update on my meagre existence. I'm afraid there's not much to go on but...

Just a few more days and then I'll be Ethan's Godfather! I'm really excited, you have no idea! But I got it in my head that I have to look presentable and therefore I must cut some of this wild hair off my noggin'. (Yeah KJ and Romard, I didn't get it cut...) So that's on the list of things to do later today. Also have to get the little guy a card and a little present. What do you get an infant for their christening?

So it has come to my attention, mostly by my mother asking me what I wanted, that my birthday is approaching. Ick. I'll be 26. The age doesn't bother me at all. but the fact that I'm getting older and seemingly not going anywhere with my life is knawing at me. Here's to hoping that I'll get in somewhere next year!

But, with my birthday coming soon only means that Halloween is fast approach thereafter. Everyone picked out there costumes yet?! Anyone need any? In case any of you forgot, my mother has a Costume shop and like a couple of years ago we can have a dress up day. I guess this should also mean IF there's a shindig to go to... IS anyone gonna throw a celebration of sorts in honor of All Hallow's Eve? Or is that simply too far off at the moment to worry? I've been thinking of ideas for what to be if I were to need a costume and well I'm getting excited for Oct 31st.

Well anyhow that's it for me. Have 'fub' at school everyone!

CSI; a love-hate relationship...

First and foremost lets all take a moment to reflect on the crazy, yet entertaining, life of Steve Irwin, the Croc Hunter. Rest in Peace, Steve...

Spike TV has on occasion these CSI marathon's in which they show an uninterrupted set of CSI (Las Vegas) shows. Because of the onset of a new season upon us, the previous season went into syndication and now Spike can show them when they normally show it in the weekday evenings.
One such marathon happened yesterday. It started at 10am and went on until 10pm... and I saw EVERY show. Other than CSI what did I do all day yesterday? NOthing. I vegged all day. I really meant to be productive but the mixture of CSI, coupled with my inability to go on the computer (thus furthering my non-productiveness) to actually work ON it made me a vegtable the whole day. Not only that, but my dreams were all CSI-related; basically a mish-mash of the episodes that I saw, some in gruesome, and somehow much more realistic, detail. Honestly, when I woke up, I felt like the show ended and I was watching the credits roll by... my brain was thinking that I was watching another episode. Freaky.

OH. And I just got a Call that I think I should share with Y'all. This is EXACTLY what happened as the call progressed I'm not leaving anything out... So this guy calls in for a hotel and and gives me the dates and I proceed to give him the available rates for said dates. He responds with; "Last time I was there I paid a lower rate of [whatever]." And he was more than a little snarky about it too. I asked him if this lower rate was through a special discount program or whatever and he said he, being more frustrated, already told me... which he didn't. So yeah, once that was out of the way I start looking for his phantom rate and sure enough it's there. Thats not the crazy part... in the ten seconds or so between me saying to hold on while I checked his discounted rate and me finding it, he blows up in my face because I was gonna charge him more for the room... ugh... stupid people. I had to step into his rant about the injustice of it all to tell him that the rate was indeed available. I should have also said to calm the fuck down and wait until I give you the rate that you DIDN'T give me in the first place. Jerk.

Anyhoo to sumerize; goodbye Croc Hunter, freaky CSI dreams and Jerk Callers... my usual posts in other words. ;-)

Mom said that she had forgotten to tell me the night previously that 'Marge' was gonna stay overnight on her way to Newfoundland. In the split second between her telling me this and then quickly corrected herself, well, lets sum it all with WHAT THE FUCK?! Obviously I was thinking of the my disowned aunt Marge was going back home to Newfoundland, which I also thought was strange since they live in Moncton and don't have money to travel alot. But mom immediately saw the panic on my face and reassured me, through her chuckling, that it was ANOTHER Marge, the widowed wife of my late Uncle, my moms brother Henry. Seriously, if it WAS the Alcoholic Marge I would have bummed one of you guys for a place to crash. There is no way I'd stay in the same building as her, nor would I allow her to stay in my room, even if I'm not there. She'd probably defacate or worse in there.
Final Fantasy VII

**************************Possible FF7 spoilers ahead, dinna read anymore if ye want to play the game and haven't yet. Although how can you not have played it yet?!**************************

You know, for being probably the best RPG video game of all time Final Fantasy VII still confused the hell out of me. I watched the "sequel" to it again last night, the CG movie Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children in an attempt to comprehend in it's entirety the epic story of the game. The confusion always rests on the topic on; who is Cloud Stryfe if he's not a member of Soldier, who is Sephiroth, and what is Jenova and what is its connection to the planet?

Cloud left his, and Tifa's, hometown of Nibelheim with high hopes to joining ShinRa's elite SOLDIER program. He didn't make the cut and therefore enlisted in the regular military. Before he left Nibelheim, however, he made such grand and outlandish statements, to people that bullied him inccessantly and to a Tifa that barely knew he exhisted, that he would make it into SOLDIER. These fantasies about making the SOLDIER program were so strong in fact that once he washed up, it was more than a little hard to bare on an insecure child. The shame on not making the SOLDIER program pushed him further into his fantasy world where he was as great as Sephiroth, even as he joined the ShinRa Military as a regular grunt. When he was dispatched to Nibelheim, along with Sephiroth and his SOLDIER 'friend' or fellow Shinra colleague Zack, the shame grew even more and he remained hidden underneath his helmet. All the while still fantasizing that he was the one riding shotgun to Sephiroth, not Zack.
When Sephiroth went apeshit and tore into Nibelheim, the only person able to stop him was Cloud. Was it luck? Or Maybe Sephiroth didn't consider Cloud as a threat and therefore gave Cloud a split-second advantage to kill him. Even then that must have raised a few eyebrows that a 'normal' human kill the nigh-invincible Sephiroth. Maybe, in Cloud's fragile state-of-mind the sight of his whole town on fire, the death of so many of the people he grew up with including his mother and nearly his crush Tifa, put him in a frenzied state that could have pushed him over the edge of reality.
Now, what the hell did Hojo do to him and Zack? Cloud and Zack, after being supposedly mortally wounded before killing Sephiroth was recovered by the demented scientist Hojo were placed in a 'regeneration chamber' of sorts and were healed. Zack was fine after this. Cloud on the other hand was screwed in the head. Cloud is mentioned as being a 'failed experiment' by Hojo; a failed 'Remnant,' as in 'remnant of Jenova.' I'm assuming, or rather I was always under the impression that whatever the reference is being made here alludes to whatever Hojo did to Cloud. I BELIEVE that all Hojo did was inject Jenova cells into the regeneration chamber that held Cloud. But they didn't hold or didn't bond to Cloud. Or this 'failure' could be Cloud not passing the test originally to make it into SOLDIER. I dunno, I haven't figured that part out yet.
Regardless, Zack got a not-so-lucid Cloud out of Nibelheim and they both tried to make it into Midgar. Cloud was dressed as a SOLDIER, apparently Hojo expected Jenova to bond with him. They don't quite make it or at least Zack doesn't. ShinRa catches up to them and kills Zack. I can't seem to remember wether Cloud snaps out of his daze and kills the ShinRa soldiers or if they simply leave him due to his apparent mental breakdown. Speaking of this breakdown, I'm guessing whatever Hojo did to him reinforced his delusions. In any case once Cloud saw his only friend's lifeless body riddled with bullet holes, the trauma of everything that has happened to Cloud snapped his reality completely and he asserted himself as Zack, 'finally' living his long-held 'fantasy.'

Professor Gast was the researcher that origially discovered the organism he later called "Jenova." Somehow, presumebly through ancient history and myth, Gast asserted that this mummified organism to be a Cetra or an 'Ancient' who were believed to being able to lead people to the 'Promised Land.' A Land abundantly and infinately fertile. ShinRa assumed that such a place would be dripping with Mako Energy and followed any leads toward this 'Promised Land' with a vengeance. Hojo was at this time Gast's young assistant who was more than a little unstable. His scientific curiosity overpowered his humanity and morality. Gast is given to go-ahead to 'clone' a Cetra by injecting the cells into the womb of Lucrecia, Hojo's mistress and fellow researcher. Gast somehow realizes his mistake or the experiment meets a kind of failure, and as a result leaves his post as head of research at ShinRa and pursues any and all knowledge on the true Cetra and what happened to them. Regardless, the baby is born and Hojo names him Sephiroth. Lucrecia is Sephiroth's birth mother but she was driven almost to the point of madness by visions that she beheld of her future child's horrific exploits. But because jenova had also bonded with her, she could not easily kill herself. Instead she isolated herself in a remote location for the rest of her life.
Gast's Cetra research led him to the Northern Continent where he originally found Jenova and there he met Ifalna, a true Cetra and the last of her kind. The two eventually have a child, Aerith. Ifalna mother was knowledgable in the Cetra's past, being the last of the Cetra herself, she probably gained this knowledge by 'speaking to the planet.' The 'Promised Land' that is spoken in Myth and what ShinRa is pursuing is nothing more than an 'afterlife' and not a physical location.

Jenova was called by the Ancient Cetra as the Calamity from the Sky. This calamity was first a meteor that crashed into the northern continent and also the vessel in which Jenova arrived upon the world. 'Jenova' itself was and extraterretrial entity, it's cells are mimetic used this ability to aid in infecting the majority of the original Cetra and drove them to madness, mutating them into monsters. Jenova was beaten by the small number of surviving Cetra and sealed inside a geological strattum to be found much later by Gast. The surviving Cetra never recovered and slowly became extinct with Aerith's death in the game.
I already knew this about Jenova from the game... but the movie comes up with other crap that confuses me all over again. The Geostigma, the disease afflicting the people of FF7 after the game, is Jenova somehow infecting normal people. Vincent said that like the lifestream, the body is expelling the Jenova cells infecting the host body, creating the 'stigma.' How do Children never exposed to Jenova become infected with it's cells? I'm assuming that whatever Kadaj meant about Jenova's mimetic legacy living on in the lifestream having something to do with it. Perhaps the death of Sephiroth, who has in essence become the new Jenova, once he retuned to the lifestream at the end of the game has begun infecting the lifestream. This infection is Geostigma.

Meh... I'm not sure I get it still... I love the game and the movie to death but I'm still confuckled. Funny how that happens that I love the story even if it doesn't make sense to me.

I was an hour and fifteen minutes late coming in to work this morning. Do I care? No. Does it matter? Not Really. Honestly, I can count on one hand how often I've been significantly late coming in to work so they won't make too much of a fuss over it, if any at all. Why was I late? I suppose it's my fault; I thought I set the alarm but I checked this morning and nope not set. Oh well, I got an extra hour of sleep out of it.

I went to my niece's first birthday party, yesterday! A LOT of people were there too. All for her, who couldn't care less. I guess that she was feeling cranky because all the people were there making noise and she didn't have room to practice walking. WALKING! And she's barely 1 yr old! I hitched a ride with my other sis and her new family, ie Mike and their new son Ethan, since Michelle lives in Woodstock. So Ethan and Jordyn were around a bunch of people. Ethan was out like a light the whole time and Jordyn graced us with her presence acting like a one year old should. She was a hell of a lot more interested in the DOZEN of so books that she got or the tissue paper that were in the bags instead of the fancy toys. Always seems to work that way at that age doesn't it?
